Are you a good driver? If you answer yes, think if you can easily drive the cross shown on the attached image. It is located in Swindon, England and called Magic Roundabout. It has one large roundaboud and each entry is a smaller roundabout (total five of them). I would not bet that I can pass it easily. Especially with right-side driving. If you look into the description and photos of this place in Wikipedia, you will notice that large roundabout has two ways of circling in it: inner...

Amazon has a nice service called Amazon Prime. For $80 annual payment people can get faster deliveries and even free deliveries next day. So far, so good. But look to the attached picture at the bottom of this post. There are two color marking there.
The red one says I qualify for Amazon Prime. Sorry to disappoint you, Amazon, but I am not!I live outside UK, so I do not qualify for Amazon Prime. Don't tell me they do not know who I am. I just logged in to check status of my orders.

Microsoft released new version of their messenger for Mac. It looks better than old very6. I am going to try it (just to see how it works). I stopped using Microsoft softwarec ompletely and I am quite happy with aMSN for messaging with other users of Microsoft Messenger. But I still want to give new messenger a try and see how good or bad it is.
I wonder why my Amazon package is stuck for more than two days at DHL facility in "Staufenberg DE"? What prevents them from sending it further?
I googled for "Amazon DHL" and found only negative feedbacks about delivery when DHL delivers Amazon packages. Packages are lost, delivered to wrong address, returned as undeliverable without any real delivery attempt, etc. I start to fear that my package will be one of those unhappy stuck packages. One girl had her...
I finally decided to order Getting Things Done, Don't Make Me Think!, and Designing Interactions. I wanted these three books for a long time but delivery from any Amazon to Latvia costs a lot of money (from 10€ per item), so when a book costs 7€ you will think twice before paying more for delivery. But sooner or later I would buy these books anyway, so I spent the rest of my Moneybookers donations to them. Now can't wait to receive them and start reading. I wanted them for soooooooo long!
Yesterday found two good resources about Google Analytics:
Google Analytics talk This is a blog dedicated to Google Analytics. The company itself is approved byGoogle as Analytics consultants. Google Analytics PDF book This one is available as PDF for $9.99 and contains lots of useful information. Itis written by the author of the above mentioned blog. Highly recommended! Itcan be printed, so if you have no local O'Reily store, you can get it cheaper than anywhere. I printed and...
Yesterday I had to dig a little into new Google Analytics code. Old Analytics code worked well on one site but I want to migrate to new one because Google is actively advertise it. Even help article now refer to new Analytics code.
Unfortunately it is minified and not readable. So I went looking to something that could undo minification and found this. Of course it does not restore variable names like A or B to anything meaningful but script is well written and meaning of variables is pretty...
I was so happy with aMSN some time ago but today it give me a problem. When started, its window was 1x10 pixels and no way to resize it. I spent 30 minutes trying to fix but finally had to uninstall it completely and reinstall. I hate wasting time for such stupid issues but what else could I do? (Yes, install Audium, I know ;)).
During Easter I went to visit my parents in Russia. They live 40 km from Moscow. It usually takes an hour to travel to them from Moscow by train or bus.
I live outside Russia since year 2000 and each time when I come to Russia I feel a bit sorry about what is happening there. I do not mean political thing, I mean how people has changed since Soviet times, what they became...
When I was a child, our living place was very clean, there was a long field of grass where we (children) liked to play....
It appears that one major German ISP has troubles with his routers and traffic goes through backup connection. But that connection has problems as well: one of its routers badly configured. It does has MTU value set to 1492 and router before it does not accept ICMP messages that advise him to resend messages. Therefore anything longer than 1492 bytes get lost completely. Due to this fact I lost huge amount of time. Finally I remembered that I have this issue half a year ago and quickly tested...
