About

This site is about TYPO3 content management system. Its purpose is to popularize TYPO3 and provide information about different TYPO3 areas to a wide auditory of readers. There are highly technical materials and really simple tutorials here.

I have a very difficult goal to this site: to satisfy both professionals and beginners. Professionals should enjoy reading about things they know but never saw in press before. Beginners should get knowledge about TYPO3 in the easy way.

There are several similar sites around (at least there were some). My site tries to be unique. And it is unique because it does not repeat what other sites say but gives fresh information from the person who is deep in TYPO3 development. That person is me.

While I tried to make reading as simple as easy as possible, TYPO3 complexity still requires concentration from readers. This should be remembered.

If you like the site, you can support it.

Meet the author

Here I am.

My name is Dmitry Dulepov. I am 35 and I live in Latvia (Europe). For several years I work as one of TYPO3 core developers. I started working for TYPO3 core by developing a part of Workspaces module together with Kasper Skårhøj. Later Kasper invited me to join TYPO3 core team.

Besides TYPO3 core I also develop several popular extensions. Here is a short list:

  • TemplaVoila
  • RealURL
  • mininews
  • comments
  • comments_ic (individual closing of comments for tt_news)
  • ratings
  • yafi (modern RSS/ATOM feed importer)

I also participate in tt_news development a little.

I like TYPO3 and I like programming for it. Recently I started to write a lot and make presentations about TYPO3. This is what I plan for my future.

Current work

I do freelance job. I do not make whole web sites. My freelance job is limited to these areas:

  • Quality evaluation for TYPO3-based web sites
  • Performance reviews
  • Extension programming
  • General consulting on TYPO3
  • Writing and presenting TYPO3 in your company

If you are interested, drop me a message.

About free consultations. If you need help but do not want to pay, ask for help in the TYPO3 mailing lists. If you have a technical problem with TYPO3 ("How do I make a link to another domain?") and want me to answer privately, you have to pay regardless of the question complexity or the answer. The price starts from 60€ per incident, to be paid through PayPal (in some cases bank transfer is possible). All my time is planned and all free support time goes only to public mailing lists (usually 1-2h every day). Free means public in this case. Private personal support is not free.

If you think it is not fare, please, read "Asking core developer directly?" on this page. It will tell you something interesting.
