I wonder why my Amazon package is stuck for more than two days at DHL facility in "Staufenberg DE"? What prevents them from sending it further?

I googled for "Amazon DHL" and found only negative feedbacks about delivery when DHL delivers Amazon packages. Packages are lost, delivered to wrong address, returned as undeliverable without any real delivery attempt, etc. I start to fear that my package will be one of those unhappy stuck packages. One girl had her package stuck in DHL for two weeks while she specially paid for 2-3 days delivery (high-priced delivery service on Amazon).

I do not understand why Amazon cannot use UPS? UPS is much faster, has much better tracking system and they can deliver to the door. DHL just sucks comparing to UPS.

Btw, DHL tracking number provided by Amazon is not recognized by DHL system. Funny, huh?

I collected some bad expiriences with DHL below. Links do not look nice due to web site design but the number of them says for itself...

    Hi Dmitry,

I never had any bad experiences with Amazon and DHL. It's more the opposite. The delivery is very fast inside Germany with DHL! And they deliver to the door, too.

Only one single DVD never arrived at me. That was one order out of approx. 100. The packages also arrived at me when I accidentely entered a wrong house number.

UPS might be bigger in general but it has it's focus on the US and not europe. Anyway, you might had bad luck this time but I don't think that you should say that one suck based on a single experience.

And by the way, did you know that it's much easier to find negative feedback that positive in the internet. That's why people can better remember bad experiences. And the more they are stressed by the situation the bigger chance is that thye publish something negative somewhere.

    Greets,
    Thomas

Well, I agree that it is easier to find negative feedbacks. I used DHL to send correspondence to other countries twice and they were not very good at delivering it: either left near the door (could be stollen by anyone!) or just left the label that they tried to deliver. They never call before delivering, nor redeliver.
