I am close to releasing updated RealURL, which will solve several serious bugs. I had to make big changes to RealURL, so I am testing it on this site before releasing it. Let's see if there are any problems.

The most significant fix is the famous "was not a keyword for a postVarSet as expected" error. Also I added autoconfiguration feature, so there is no need to manually write configuration after RealURL is installed. It will check and generate configuration if necessary(= if no configuration is set).

You can get pre-release version below as T3X file and use EM to import it. Use at your own risk (just like anything else in this life).

[Update, Sep 23] See this post for the location of new RealURL.

    Dmitry,
Thanks for this preview! We've been thinking about an autoconfiguration module for a while now and it looks like you went out and developed exactly what we had in mind.

I do see that the autoconfiguration script includes a config for mininews. What do you think about extending this with a hook so that other extensions can insert their own config?

Would you like any bug reports to go on the bugtracker even though its not released?

    Thanks,
    jeff

Jeff Segars, the hook (or sonething similar) will be there in the final release.

Jan Bednarik, these three slashes are there for a long time. May be I will fix that as well. In any case I do not see it as big problem.

Patrick Scholman, no idea. As you see my pages show fine. I cannot help unless I know your configuration. You may post bug report into bug tracker but I really need your config there.
