New TYPO3 support site is online under the name Opens external link in new windowsupport.typo3.org. For unknown reason it does not use TYPO3 but Java/JSP/Jive. What a disgrace...

I have to disagree! It's great to see this site finaly online! Whether it uses TYPO3 or not doesn't matter much as long as or users get supported in their questions. If TYPO3 can't come up with such a system at the moment it's perfectly ok to use another one that might be specialized for a certain job. The same fits for the bugtracker, too BTW.

Sitting on the fence but it does seem a bit odd to be using software that costs $000's - http://www.jivesoftware.com/products/forums/pricing.jsp

Ingo, we do not write bug tracker software but we write CMS. Using another CMS while we have our own, is unacceptable.

Jive a CMS? It's a dedicated forum app.

I think it really sucks, that with all the great minds working on TYPO3, they can NOT build a system like that of there own !!

Who says we could not build one? The point is that there is a lot of more useful stuff worth working on than yet another forum. Why should we write every standard solution ourselves when inn, mailman, mantis and mediawiki work perfectly?

I'm not too happy about a proprietary tool, but since I'm not going to use it anyway, I don't really care.
